Condolence: Words can't even express how much Margo Kirby meant to me and how very difficult it was to hear of her passing. I have known Margo since March of 2004 when I first began working at the City of Philadelphia's Health Center #2. Being one my first real jobs out of college, I was quite shy, nervous and extremely frightened to enter the work force; without any inkling of what to expect! Yet, Margo Kirby immediately took me under her wing, offering encouragement, guidance and support in any way possible. She made me feel welcome and loved, as the two of us became fast friends! I never forgot how she told me even then that despite how rattled I was when I began working at the clinic, that she felt that if she was patient enough, that I would prove to be one of her best workers. She even told me that I exceeded her expectations! Long after leaving the Health Center to work at other locations, my bond with Margo was strong, and I would often visit her whenever I had the chance. I always made it a point to come and see her during the holidays and would often bring gifts such as music boxes, bouquets of flowers and even some pink "Kirby" plush dolls! I also included her in some of the milestones in my life, such as when I purchased my first home, my engagement, and my wedding just this past year. Even my current job is due partly to her, as she gave me a glowing recommendation; praising my work ethic and dedication to any given task. A part of me can't even believe that she's truly gone... Earlier this year we discussed having lunch together sometime, where I planned to give her even more gifts to express how grateful I was for all she'd done for me. It saddens me that I'll never have the chance now, and that I won't ever see that warm, welcoming smile again. I know she was cared for and deeply respected by so many, but to me, she was a mentor, friend, and truly like family. I'll miss you so very much Margo, but I promise that I'll never forget you for as long as I live! I'll take your kindness with me wherever I go, and when in doubt, I'll always remember how much you believed in me when it seemed like no one else did. God bless you Margo, and your loved ones, for you deserve it and so much more.
