Uncle Donnie…I don’t usually write things like this but I couldn’t miss the opportunity to say something to you one last time.  I am heartbroken over the loss of you.  You were such a huge part of this family and a huge part of my life.  So many summers spent at your house and so many memories…of Christmas parties, Pokeno games, laughter and love.   Your mind was a wealth of information, ideas, stories and jokes.  Your faith in God was inspiring, but it was your heart that shone above all else.   You wouldn’t hesitate to give your last penny or the shirt off your back to someone who needed it more.   Always willing to accept people into your home and make them feel welcome.   And last but not least, shared my affinity for all things Star Trek!  The house hasn’t been the same without you in it but there are plenty of reminders all around.  I will think of you every time we gather around the dining room table to play cards and remember all the fun we used to have.  At the end, you suffered so much but never complained and fought so bravely.  Life will not be the same without you and you will be sadly missed.  Aunt Chickie will be taken care of and we’ll all help her through this difficult time.  I love you very much and am comforted by the fact that you are now in Heaven surrounded by Gram, Grandpop, my mom and all of your family.  Rest in peace, Uncle Donnie.  Love, Lisa
