THOMAS J.; April 22, 2021. Beloved husband of Patricia (nee DeMarco). Devoted father of Marlana Caprara, Karen (Vincent) Spena, and Kristen Caprara. Grandfather of Thomas Joseph “TJ” Spena. Brother of Carol (Nick) Iannetta. Uncle of Joseph (Stacey) Oteri. Thomas was a dedicated soldier to his country, where he served in the US Army for 2 years. He was stationed in Germany, where he loved to collect handmade hummels. After he returned to the US, he continued in public service as a Philadelphia Police Officer for 36 years, where he served in multiple districts, including the K-9 Unit. He was a decorated officer who earned many honors and accommodations during his career. He worked hard to support his 3 beloved daughters and his wife of 51 years. His favorite place to travel was Walt Disney World. He loved John Wayne, Western movies, and Perry Mason. For the last 8 years, his beloved grandson TJ was apple of his eye and one of the greatest joys of his life. He was selfless when it came to his family and he will be missed dearly. Relatives and friends are invited to his VIEWING TUESDAY EVENING 7-9 P.M. and WEDNESDAY MORNING 8:30 A.M. until 9:30 A.M. at THE MONTI-RAGO FUNERAL HOME, INC., 2531-35 SOUTH BROAD STREET. Funeral Mass, 10 A.M., St. Rita of Cascia Church, Broad and Ellsworth Sts. Int. SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery.
