Obituary for Theresa Marinucci

Theresa Ann Marinucci, 53, of Philadelphia, PA, passed away unexpectedly on March 11, 2024, at Pennsylvania Presbyterian hospital from a tragic accident and suffered multiple internal injuries, with her sons lovingly by her side. The family is deeply saddened and shocked by her sudden death. Theresa was born on November 1, 1971 in Philadelphia, PA.

Therea is survived by her three children, Arnaldo, Alexander, and Antonio Gonzalez-Marinucci, mother and father Theresa and Richard Marinucci Jr, her sister Marianne Marinucci (Steven Addeo), her brother Nicholas Marinucci, her nieces Sophia and Gina Marinucci, aunts, uncles, cousins and other assorted family and many caring friends that will miss her dearly.

Theresa was predeceased to heaven by her husband Edwin Martinez, grandparents Antonio and Mary Rossi as well as Margaret and Richard Marinucci Sr.

As a “wild child” growing up in the 70’s, she always said how everything changed for her when she had children. Her sons were her sole focus, and she worried over and took care of them until the end, sometimes to the exclusion of her own needs but she wouldn’t have had it any other way. She loved being a mother.

She was kind, generous, and compassionate. She loved her entire family, despite their disfunction. Even if she spoke in anger, she was always the first to forgive, apologize, and try to heal what was broken- she always kept loving them.

Her legacy will carry on forever reminding us that we have control of our attitudes, patience, and forgiveness. She chose to live a life of meaningful acts of love and service, like Christ modeled for us. As a woman of faith, Theresa would have liked to have a celebration of the immorality promised to all by Christ. She would love to be remembered with funny, strange, or silly stories that celebrate what was good and blessed in her life. May she rest in peace.

Theresa will be desperately missed by all those that she left behind. Our hearts are so broken by this unexpected loss. She was one of a kind and to be loved by her was to be truly blessed.

“You never said I’m leaving, you never said goodbye. You were gone before we knew it. And only God knew why. A million times we needed you, a million times we cried. If love alone could have saved you, you never would have died. In life we loved you dearly, in death we love you still. In our hearts you hold a place that no one could ever fill. It broke our hearts to lose you, but you didn’t go alone. For part of us went with you, the day God took you home.” Author Unknown

Memorial services will be held at St. Paul’s Catholic Church at a later date.
