Obituary for Theresa J. DiGirolamo (Tocco)

THERESA J. (nee Tocco). On December 10, 2022, Theresa died peacefully in the home she lived in for 92 of her 93 years. She is survived by her children, Monsignor Paul A. DiGirolamo and Carol Anne DiGirolamo. She was preceded in death by her husband Angelo R. DiGirolamo, her parents Louis and Florence Tocco, her six siblings, and all of her cousins.
Theresa graduated from the Epiphany of Our Lord School and Hallahan High School. Upon graduating from high school, she worked as a bookkeeper for various firms. During that time, she took college classes at night earning her bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Villanova. She always teased that she had a choice between marriage and sitting for the CPA exam. She chose marriage. Theresa was a devoted wife and mother. As her children were growing up, she was very active in her parish. She was an adult advisor in Epiphany CYO for many years. She also ran the parish’s Red Cross blood drives. She was a great cook, excellent baker, and welcoming host. She was an accomplished crafter and a self-taught seamstress. She was generous with sharing her talents. Until the paper went digital, Theresa volunteered in the Circulation Department of the Catholic Standard and Times for 27 years. She will be remembered and missed by many.
