Obituary for Phyllis Buono

Phyllis Buono, known affectionately as "Phillie," peacefully passed away on August 23, 2023 surrounded by family. She was reunited with her beloved husband of 52 years, Martin "Marty" Buono, who had preceded her in death and whom she missed dearly. Their eternal reunion is a testament to the love they shared throughout their remarkable journey together.

Phyllis was a devoted and nurturing mother to her children, Theodore "Teddy" Buono (Denise) Albano and Nicole (Robert) Mancuso. Her care and guidance shaped their lives and created lasting memories that will be cherished by all who knew them.

Loving Sister “Sitty” to Sandy Nigro and her sister by heart Betty Milavsky, Phyllis maintained deep connections with her family. She was a loving aunt to P.J. Nigro and had a close relationship with her cousin and dear friend Vicki Franchetti. Throughout her life, Phyllis cultivated meaningful friendships, including her lifelong companions Loretta, Lorraine, and Bill, who brought joy and support to her days.

Phyllis also held a special place in the hearts of her many friends, cousins, great nieces, and nephews. Her warm smile, compassionate spirit, and unwavering love left an indelible mark on all those fortunate enough to have crossed paths with her.

Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects during the viewing, which will be held on Thursday, August 31, 2023, starting at 10am at The Church of St. Monica, located at 17th and Ritner Sts. Philadelphia, PA 19145. A funeral mass will follow at 11am, offering an opportunity to celebrate Phyllis's life and offer prayers for her journey ahead. The internment will be held privately. In lieu of flowers family request donations be made to Saint Monica’s Church.

Phyllis Buono's legacy is one of love, family, friendship, and kindness. She will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate to love and know her. Her memory will forever inspire those whose lives she touched, leaving a legacy of compassion and connection that will endure for generations to come.
