It is with great sadness the family of Michael Cirillo announces his passing on August 10, 2020. Michael, age 52, was born in Philadelphia, PA and resided there until his death.
Cherished and beloved son of the late Thomas and Marie Cirillo. Loving brother of Maria Searle and her husband Joseph, Carmine Cirillo, Theresa Ianelli and her husband Robert, Roseann Bisirri and her husband Ralph, Elaine Combs and her husband Robert, and the late Thomas Cirillo, Jr. Adoring Uncle to his many nieces and nephews.
Michael had a lifelong passion for learning and often called himself a perpetual student. A proud Temple Owl, he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in electrical engineering. He continued his education taking courses at Pennco Tech and Penn Foster, an online program. Anytime a technical question needed answering, his mother would always say “Michael knows,” and he always did. Michael loved technology, but not just iPads and iPhones, his most cherished piece of equipment was simply his transistor radio.
Along with his love of radio came a love of music, especially The Beatles. He spent many evenings working out and listening to his music. Michael was also a gifted song writer and a self-taught amateur guitarist.
Michael had a love for the arts and most recently dabbled in culinary arts. He had taken to the kitchen to perfect his homemade ice cream recipe—banana was his favorite.
A true Philadelphian, he was a lifelong Phillies and Eagles fan, who had spent countless hours walking down to old Veteran’s Stadium to root for the home team. He also enjoyed fishing.
Above all, Michael loved Jesus and had unwavering faith in God.
He will be deeply missed by his family and all who knew him.
Funeral service will be private.
