Obituary for John M. Ruggiero

Ruggiero
John Michael, 76, of Wildwood, New Jersey. Passed away peacefully surrounded by his family in his home after a long and courageous battle with Lewy Body Dementia. John was born and raised in South Philadelphia. He was the dedicated husband to his “bride” Veronica (Polidoro); son of The late John Ruggiero and Grace (Palmer) Ruggerio, who affectionately knew him as “Johnny Boy”; and loving father of Veronica (Raymond) Kolmetsky and Jennifer (Shawn) McIntyre. He was the best loved pee-pop to Nicholas Pinto, Frank Baldino, Bailey (Corey) Koch and Alex McIntyre (Jack). Cherished brother of Concetta (The late Gordon) Okerstrom, The late Patricia (Anthony) DeMayo, Grace (The late Frank) McBride, Michael (Anna) Ruggiero, Jackie (Jim) O’Keefe and Carol (Al) Pandola. Devoted son-in-law to The late Albert and Veronica Polidoro, brother-in-law to Annabelle Kaufmann and Madeline Polidoro. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. John lived life to the fullest, on his terms and did it his way. He was a kind, loving, and generous man who would give anyone the shirt off of his back. His favorite past times included weekly pool games in his basement and listening to doowop with his family and friends. In the neighborhood he was affectionately known as JR by his closest family and friends. John will always be remembered for his quick wit, generous heart, and unwavering dedication to his loved ones.
