Obituary for Jane Corso

On Sunday, July 5th, 2020, surrounded by family, and bathed in the golden rays of an evening sunset, Jane Cammisa Corso passed peacefully in the arms of her beloved husband, Kenneth Corso.

Jane was born on September, 15th, 1955 to Lou and Norma Cammisa in the bustling city of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Her childhood was blessed with memories of her doting parents and protective three brothers, along with countless family members and close friends. Jane married the love of her life, Kenneth Robert Corso, on September 10th, 1978 at Calvary Temple in Philadelphia. Together they raised three handsome, loving, rambunctious boys – each who grew to be an incomparable reflection of her wonderful characteristics.

Jane was a devoted daughter of God. She spent her life endlessly sharing the love of the Lord with her husband, children, grandchildren, family – and all the friends who were blessed to have known her. She taught children’s church for over twenty years. As a school teacher, she used kindness and compassion to teach underprivileged children as much about living and loving as she did their academic lessons. She obtained her Master's Degree in Education later in her life, without pause, during her first battle with cancer.

Jane loved to host parties. No matter the occasion – be it a holiday, birthday, or football game, she created an environment in which everyone felt welcome and loved. Her cooking was simply unmatched. She poured her heart and soul into every meal she made; from a simple sandwich, to a classic Italian dish. She was an avid bargain hunter, spending marathon shopping trips in her favorite stores. Jane and Ken loved treasure hunting at thrift shops. Jane was not only charitable and generous; she was thoughtful and compassionate. She had a knack for finding perfect gifts. Her first priority was always the care of her family, who she selflessly loved until her last breath.

Jane is lovingly remembered by her husband of 42 years, Kenneth Corso; their three sons, Augustus and his wife Melissa – her beloved three grandchildren Lilly, Diane, and Regina; Daniel and his wife Justine; Kenneth and his wife Talia. She was preceded in death by her father, Louis Cammisa and is survived by her sweet mother, Norma Cammisa; her three brothers Agostino Cammisa and his wife Mildred; Gary Cammisa and his wife Sinuon; and Louis Cammisa and his wife Susan. She is survived in deathby her father-in-law Augustus Corso and her mother-in-law Yolanda Corso; her two brothers-in-law, Michael Corso and his wife Marilyn; Steven Corso and his wife Deborah; and her sister-in-law, Paulette Shackleford. Jane will also be forever remembered and loved by her numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Due to the circumstances surrounding the coronavirus, we will be unable to have a viewing or a funeral. The family will be arranging a live video stream memorial service to be held on Thursday, July 16th, 2020 at 7:00 PM. Additional details about viewing the live stream will be posted at the “Jane Corso Updates” Facebook group at the following link:
