Obituary for Frank DeStefano

Frank DeStefano “Frankie D, The D Man” – Frank left this world and joined our heavenly Father on September 23, 2022. Frank was born in New York City to Joseph and Anna DeStefano, on a national holiday, July 4, 1926, and he never stopped celebrating.

Frank married the love of his life, Elizabeth (Betty) Fria. Together, the two did not have children, but they adored their nieces and nephews like their own children. Frank became a grandfather figure to his many grandnieces and grandnephews. He was a true guardian of his loved ones.

Frank was the life of the party, spinner of (mob) yarns, dapper (never fully dressed without a fedora), the only person to be resuscitated with a shot of whiskey and prayer. He was sharp as a tack until the end.

Frank will forever hold a special place in our hearts. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Anna DeStefano, wife Elizabeth (Betty) Fria, sister Carmela (Millie) Rizzo, and nephews Bob Fria, Fred Novelli & Vincent Friia.

He is survived by his nieces and nephews; Bruno and Marsha Friia, Anthony and Heidi Friia, Mary and Bob Colvin, Linda Novelli, Rick and Terri Fria and many grandnieces and grandnephews who loved him dearly.

There will be a private family service. A celebration of his life will be at a future date. In lieu of flowers or memorials, please donate to Bayada Hospice for their extraordinary care and compassion for Frank.
