Our father Elefterios “Lefty” Mitsos was a Greek immigrant who came to America with his family as a small boy.
He worked very hard throughout his life. His greatest accomplishments were the years he served on the Philadelphia Police Force.
He was a decorated plain clothes police officer for many years and worked in the narcotics and sex crimes units.
He dedicated his life to his family.
And was a wonderful father and grandfather who loved his family.
He taught all of us to be proud and to work hard.

Mary, Mike and Pete,
Laila and I want to extend our deepest condolences. Your father was a funny guy with his well timed jokes, an off color comment or just his mannerisms. I always enjoyed a coffee and smoke with your Pop. He and your mom always helped out with my son when we needed them the most. I'm forever grateful. I am glad we had our Football Sunday last fall when all us guys got together at my house. I laughed and smiled until my face was sore. Your father lived a good full life, never long enough as we all know. Cherish the memories. Left, gods speed, Rest In Peace-
Love Bobby and Laila Richards

I am sorry for your loss of Lefty. He was a very nice person and easy to work with at Kraft Foods.

My name is Bob Lipshutz. I had the pleasure of presenting Lefty in court many times as my witness when I served as an ADA in Philadelphia years ago. In his work, he was prepared and professional. As a person, he was great to be around. He was a fun guy. And he was a good person.

This is a loss that will effect me and my family forever. Lefty was such a great man. I met him at the age of three. His son Peter is forever my best friend. Mary was like a mother to me and Lefty was a stand up guy. As I got older I never realized how funny he was. No matter what we would always find the humor through the hurt and pain. He was an amazing man. I'll miss that smile. He was loved and adore by his family and others. He was a beautiful man who left an imprint on our hearts forever. He will be missed but never forgotten. Rest easy big man. The adoration for you will live on, and your legacy will never die. We love you Lefty. Always.

The Abuzzo's, Janice, Joe, Joseph and Lauren.

Dad, throughout your life you have touched the lives of countless people in many different ways. But to everyone, either friend or family, you were a source of happiness and a true "class act". What that amounts to is, you will be forever loved and missed by many. I could not have asked for a better father or friend, and will always carry with me the many the things I learned from you. The memories I have will last a lifetime, as will my love and respect for you.
