Edmond “Little Eddie” J. Tayoun, Jr., son of Therese Tayoun (nee Trabulsy) and the late Edmond Tayoun, brother of Anne (Lance) Dallegro, Dena (Roger) Mgrdichian, Joseph Tayoun, William Tayoun, Thomas Tayoun, the late Michael Tayoun, and beloved late dog Zizza. Also survived by his loving nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing on Saturday, July 8, 2023, 9:30 AM at St Maron’s Church, 1013 Ellsworth St., Philadelphia, PA 19147. His funeral mass will follow at 11:00 AM, interment at Calvary Cemetery, Cherry Hill, NJ. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be sent to St. Maron’s Church.
Eddie, the oldest of seven children, was born in Philadelphia, and grew up in National Park and Collingswood, NJ. He was a retired Sheriff’s Officer for Camden County, NJ. He also served as a hostage negotiator and was part of the underwater search and recovery team. He had a great love for anything that had to do with outer space (the planets, ISS, NASA), science fiction, nature, and animals. His favorite memories were working with his father, Big Eddie, in the Middle East Restaurant in Philadelphia, especially spending time cutting meat together in the basement. Some of his favorite music included listening to Government Mule/Warren Haynes, and the Grateful Dead. He enjoyed playing the guitar and dumbek. For those that knew Eddie well, he would know how to push your buttons and was a force to be reckoned with, but you also knew that he would be there for you at a moment’s notice and would give you the shirt off his back. Eddie was greatly loved (more than he knew) and will be greatly missed.
