Caroline (nee DiGregorio) August 23, 2023. Beloved wife of the late Thomas Gagliardi. Devoted mother of Michelle (the late Joseph) Nicotra, Robert (Maria) Gagliardi, Michael Brown, and Anna Marie (Joseph) DiCastelnuovo. Also survived by her 12 grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren.
With sadness in our hearts, we remember our loving mom, grandmother, and matriarch of our family. Carol passed away on August 23, 2023 surrounded by loving family. She loved life, and she lived it to fullest! She would often be the life of the party dancing and celebrating each occasion. Nothing brought her more joy and happiness than her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Carol was a woman ahead of her time, and she was dedicated to raising her children with love. Her love for her grandchildren was immense, and she would do whatever she could for them whether that meant sleepovers on the weekend, trips to the shore, insane amounts of Christmas gifts, and even driving lessons. Often, her grandchildren would enjoy just hanging out with gram. With the arrival of her great-grandchildren, she was beyond excited, and she loved and adored them. Even while quarantining during the pandemic, she made sure to have a device with her to be able to see them throughout the day. She would spend hours just being present and checking on everyone. She truly was full of love for her family, and she cared deeply for us. Many others know Carol through her time as a block captain in Philadelphia and waitress. Her friendly demeanor, infectious smile, and welcoming attitude brought many people joy. She will be greatly missed, but we celebrate her life as she loved to celebrate every occasion. She now returns to the love of her life, Thomas, and her brothers and sisters who have gone before her. She will forever hold a place in our hearts, and we will cherish the fond memories we hold dear.
Relatives and friends are invited to her Viewing Tuesday August 29, 2023 9AM at the Church of Saint Nicholas Tolentine Church 9th and Watkins Street followed by her funeral mass at 10AM. Int Saint Peter and Paul Cemetery. In lieu of flowers family request donations be made to Saint Nicholas Church.
