Obituary for Anthony J. Tangi

TANGI
Anthony John, October 12, 2022. Devoted husband of Debra Florence Tangi, loving father to Daniel (Renee), Anthony (Aubrey), Vanessa (Henrik), Elizabeth (Richard) and John. Doting Pop-Pop to Krista, Lila, Wilhelm, Haley, Mila, Alessandra, Sienna, and Stella. Predeceased by his father, Anthony Rocco Tangi, mother, Anna Vita Tangi, and sister Marlene. Beloved brother of Carol (Nicholas) and Anna. Proud uncle to Toniann, Nicholas, and Jennifer. Dedicated friend, neighbor, and member of The Epiphany of Our Lord parish.
Anthony (Tony) was a generous and honorable man who was devoted to his family, friends, and community. He was a eucharistic minister for his church, participated in charitable events, and delivered food and provided companionship to parishioners in need. He was also very involved with the Boy Scouts of America (Troop 147) serving as a leader and mentor.
After graduating with honors from Girard College in Philadelphia, Anthony attended LaSalle University where he studied political science on a full scholarship. He was also accepted into Temple University’s Beasley School of Law, and after a year of study, he started his career with the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard. The closure of the shipyard presented a new opportunity and Anthony began working with US Customs as an Inspections Agent. He held this position until his retirement in 2010.
Anthony enjoyed fishing, hunting, and assisting loved ones with home renovations, which he was passionate about and skilled in. He also loved spending quality time with his grandchildren at home and at the beach. His warm smile and jovial personality touched many lives, and he will be deeply missed.
