Obituary for Anthony J. Parrillo Jr.
Anthony “Tony” J. Parrillo Jr. passed away unexpectedly on September 1, 2023, at the age of 85. Beloved husband & partner of 45 years to Darliene “Binky” Parrillo. Cherished father to Ashley (Katie) Parrillo and Alexis (Connor) Parrillo Cipparone. He is also survived by many family members and friends. Preceded in death by his parents Anthony & Alberta Parrillo.
Tony was born and raised in South Philadelphia and served in the U.S. Army. He went on to own The Loft nightclub on 20th and Oregon Avenue, where he met his wife, Darliene. He often reminisced on their ‘disco days’ and could keep you entertained for hours with his stories. He spent the last chapters of his life as a dedicated insurance agent and, most importantly, a loving husband and father. He was truly one-of-a-kind, and he will be deeply, deeply missed.
Relatives and friends are invited to his VIEWING Thursday September 7, 2023 (Tony's Birthday) 9am at the Church of St. Monica, 17th and Ritner Sts., Philadelphia, PA. His funeral mass will follow at 10:30 am.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly request that contributions be made in his memory to Philabundance Food Bank or the charity of your choice.
