RITA “LEE” (nee Mazzone); passed away peacefully at the age of 87 on May 25, 2017 after a short battle with cancer surrounded by her family. Devoted wife of Cosmo Carangi, a WWII Veteran, for 60 years. Beloved mother of Louis, Mary (Jim Rudman), Arlene Mather and the late Cosmo Jr. and Robert Carangi. Also survived by 16 grandchildren. Born the daughter of Italian immigrants, the late Louis and Pasqualina Mazzone, Rita was one of 4 siblings growing up in South Philadelphia. Relatives and friends are invited to her VIEWING WEDNESDAY 8:30 A.M. at The Church of St. Rita of Cascia, Broad and Ellsworth Sts., followed by her Funeral Mass at 10 A.M. Int. Holy Cross Cemetery.
